Congratulations on the start of the new academic year!
September 1 is a special day for every family and for our whole country. This is the day when schools are filled with children's voices again, when thousands of children take another step towards knowledge, new discoveries and their future professions.
Education is one of the most important foundations for the development of the state. The future of Abkhazia tomorrow largely depends on what knowledge and values we give to our children today. We need competent and educated specialists — doctors and teachers, engineers and physicists, philologists, economists, and representatives of a wide variety of professions. And our common task is to create the necessary conditions for them right now.
152 secondary schools are ready to receive students this academic year, which will accommodate about 29,000 children. About 2,300 first-graders will hear their first school bell.
The state continues to work on creating modern and comfortable learning conditions. This year, repairs were carried out in schools, premises and educational infrastructure were updated.
We pay special attention to the preservation and development of the Abkhazian language. This academic year, modern classrooms of the Abkhazian language are being created in seven schools, which will be equipped with everything necessary for a full-fledged educational process. This work will continue in the future, as supporting our native language is an essential part of preserving our national culture and identity.
We are also developing a natural science field. New physics classrooms are being opened in 14 schools of the republic, and atomic classrooms are starting to operate in four schools. This is an important step in expanding opportunities for students who want to connect their future with physics, engineering, energy and modern technologies.
Another important area is the organization of hot meals. This academic year, we are starting to provide hot meals for elementary school students in 57 schools of the republic. We will consistently expand this work so that our children have not only the opportunity to receive a high-quality education, but also the necessary conditions for full-fledged education.
And, of course, I would like to say special words of gratitude to our teachers. It is you who help children explore the world every day, shape their character, teach them to think, work, respect their country and be responsible for their actions.
