The provision of fuel to the republic was discussed today by the President of Abkhazia Badra Gunba and the Minister of Energy Batal Mushba

The Minister reported to the President that today the fuel supply situation can be considered stabilized. Both large participants in the fuel market and large gas stations, as well as small gas stations, have fuel reserves.

Currently, Abkhazia has reserves of about two thousand tons of AI-92 gasoline, about 2.5 thousand tons of AI-95 gasoline and about 3.7 thousand tons of diesel fuel. In addition, there are about two thousand tons of gasoline on the way, which should arrive in the republic by the end of next week.

According to Batal Mushba, unless unforeseen circumstances arise, about 3,500 more tons of gasoline and about three thousand tons of diesel fuel are expected to arrive in Abkhazia within the next month.

The Minister noted that in the current situation, commercial enterprises have managed to establish alternative fuel delivery routes. This improved the situation on the domestic market and provided significant assistance in providing the republic with the necessary volumes of fuel.

At the same time, Batal Mushba noted that the current circumstances affected the cost of fuel. The price increase is due to objective reasons beyond the control of the republic.

The Minister stressed that he and his colleagues are doing everything possible to fulfill the President's instructions to prevent a repeat of the situation in which the republic may face a shortage of fuel.

President Badra Gunba, after listening to the Minister's report, instructed to send all necessary forces and means to prevent the situation from returning to a critical state.

The Head of State stressed that the reasons that previously complicated fuel supplies from Russia have not yet been completely eliminated. In this regard, it is necessary to continue working on alternative delivery routes and maintain the already established supply channels.

The President also instructed to conduct the necessary negotiations with Russian colleagues in a timely manner and to keep under constant control the issues of providing the republic with all major types of fuel — gasoline AI-92, AI-95 and diesel fuel, as well as the formation of necessary reserves.
