The President stressed that since the recognition of the Republic of Abkhazia, the Abkhazian side has been providing support and assistance to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in voting for Russian citizens permanently residing in the country.
The number of voting places has been increased this year. As Badra Gunba noted, this is due to the fact that there are still a large number of Russian citizens in Abkhazia who come to the republic on vacation. Additional opportunities have been created for them to vote directly at their place of residence.
The President established a working group to assist the Embassy of the Russian Federation. It is headed by Vice-President Beslan Bigvava.
According to the Vice President, cooperation has been established with the Embassy of the Russian Federation. On Monday, a regular working meeting was held with the heads of districts, during which issues of assistance in voting were discussed.
The Abkhazian side provides the necessary facilities and technical conditions for the organization of voting, as well as provides assistance in ensuring security. The relevant law enforcement agencies have been notified of the elections and will ensure order at the polling places.
