The head of state noted the importance of preserving the memory of the people who, during the difficult years of the Abkhazian people's Patriotic War of the Abkhazian People, provided support and contributed to the struggle for Abkhazia's freedom.

"It is important for us to remember those who stood by Abkhazia and helped our people during the most difficult years." Yusup Soslanbekov was one of those people. "His role in organizing the volunteer movement is hard to overestimate," said Badra Gunba.

Turpal-Ali and Yunus Soslanbekov thanked the President and the people of Abkhazia for preserving the memory of their father and for presenting them with a state award that was bestowed upon Yusup Soslanbekov.
