In his speech, the Head of State said: 

"Dear comrades officers, servicemen, and veterans of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Abkhazia!

Congratulations on the Day of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Abkhazia!

On October 11, 1992, in the midst of the Patriotic War of the Abkhazian People, the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Abkhazia, led by Vladislav Ardzinba, made a decision to establish the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Colonel Vladimir Arshba was appointed acting Minister of Defense, and Colonel Sultan Sosnaliev was appointed Chief of the General Staff. From this day, the modern Abkhazian army traces its history.

Our Armed Forces were forged directly on the battlefields, in the fights for the freedom and independence of our Motherland. Therefore, this day holds special significance for each of us, for every citizen of Abkhazia.

The Abkhazian army has become the embodiment of courage, resilience, and the indomitable spirit of our people. Defending the Motherland has always been the highest honor and sacred duty for the Abkhazian people.

I want to express the gratitude to our veterans. It was you who stood at the origins of the modern Abkhazian army. And today, a significant part of our military potential is made up of reservists, among whom veterans of the Patriotic War of the Abkhazian people are still serving. Their combat experience, knowledge, and personal example are of great importance for training the younger generation. 

Today, the state is consistently strengthening the Armed Forces, increasing their combat capability, improving the system of personnel training, and the army's logistical support. Special attention is paid to modern types of weapons, the development of new training areas, and the improvement of combat readiness. The expansion of military-technical cooperation with our main ally, the Russian Federation, plays an important role in this work. This cooperation allows for strengthening Abkhazia's defense capabilities, improving army equipment, and enhancing the training level of our Armed Forces.

In the coming days, we are to conduct large-scale operational-tactical exercises with the participation of units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Abkhazia and the Russian Federation. During the exercises, modern forms and methods of troop deployment, interaction between various units, and improvement of combat readiness will be practiced. Such exercises are not just a test of combat readiness. This is an opportunity to strengthen cooperation, enhance the professionalism of servicemen, and once again confirm our ability to reliably defend our Fatherland. 

Dear officers!

Today, we gratefully remember those who stood at the origins of the Armed Forces, who defended our Motherland with weapons in hand and gave their lives for it. Their feat will forever remain in the history of Abkhazia.

I wish the servicemen and veterans of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Abkhazia good health, resilience, success in service, and family well-being.
