The attributes of the presidential power of the Republic of Abkhazia are the standard of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia, a seal with the image of the state emblem and the inscription "President of the Republic of Abkhazia", ​​a saber symbolizing the role of the President as the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Abkhazia and the national Abkhaz staff (alabasha) - a symbol of state wisdom.

Seal and standard of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia

The President of the Republic of Abkhazia has a round heraldic seal with the inscription "President of the Republic of Abkhazia" and the standard of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia.

The standard of the President of the Republic of Abkhazia is a rectangular cloth with sides in the ratio of 1:2.

The color of the standard corresponds to the colors of the State Flag of the Republic of Abkhazia, along its length there are seven alternating stripes of equal width of green and white, of which four are green and three are white. The stripes start from the top row, the first stripe is green.

In the upper left corner of the standard pole there is a purple rectangle measuring 0.38 times the length of the flag and three stripes wide. In the center of the purple rectangle there is a vertical open palm of the right hand of white color. Above the palm there are seven five-pointed white stars in a semicircle.

The cloth is bordered with gold fringe. Two gold tassels are attached to the standard pole. The standard pole is topped with a wooden pommel in the form of a cone.

The President's saber

The President's saber has a steel blade with one wide fuller. The combat end of the saber is single-edged. The length of the blade is 78 cm. The saber hilt consists of a handle, the length of the hilt is 15 cm. The handle is wooden, covered with a silver overlay, the head of the handle is silver, covered with a gilded ornament.

The wooden scabbard of the saber is covered with black leather. The length of the scabbard is 81 cm. The silver fittings of the scabbard consist of a mouth, two nuts and a tip, it is covered with a gilded ornament. On the upper nut of the scabbard there is a silver plate with the inscription: "19 21/1 17".

The President's staff

The staff is the official symbol of the President's power. The staff is called "alabasha" and symbolizes wisdom.

The length of the staff is 137 cm. The top of the staff has the form of a wooden bracket for the thumb and a wooden shoot to support the palm. The staff ends with a tip made of white metal 23 cm long with a pointed end. The material of the staff is varnished wood.

"Alabash" is a wooden staff with an iron tip and brackets on the upper end in the form of a natural branch - an attribute of traditional Abkhazian culture. "Alabashya" is made from carefully processed young spruce, maple, mahogany or dogwood. In historical retrospect, each Abkhaz clan had its own "alabasha". The heads of clans at clan meetings held in their hands or leaned on "alabasha" as a sign of their dignity. "Alabashya" was passed down by inheritance and was a family heirloom.

According to experts, "alabasha", in addition to symbolic, also performed practical functions - in ancient times, it served as a simple weapon, was a support when walking on mountainous terrain or when shooting at a target, helped to overcome obstacles on the way, served as a kind of tribune for the orator, who, having stuck "alabasha" into the ground and leaning on it, delivered a speech in front of the people's gathering.
