Dear compatriots!

Dear veterans!

Comrades officers!

Dear guests!

Today we celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the Victory in the Patriotic War of the Abkhaz people.

The victory, which determined the fate of our people and our state, became a historical milestone and opened a new chapter in the history of Abkhazia.

The Patriotic War of the Abkhazian people lasted 413 days and nights. 413 days of severe trials, courage, and heroism. Every day of this war has been a struggle for our people's right to live on their land.

This victory came at a tremendous cost. It was conquered by the courage and resilience of our fighters, their readiness to defend their Motherland to the end.

Our people never lost faith in Victory. Even after heavy battles, losses, and unsuccessful offensives, our soldiers continued to move forward with renewed strength. They were united by faith in the righteousness of their cause, love for their Motherland, and a firm understanding of what they were fighting for.

At the forefront of this struggle stood the national leader, the First President of Abkhazia, Vladislav Grigoryevich Ardzinba. Glorious military leaders and commanders, who headed the Armed Forces of Abkhazia and directed combat operations, were by his side. Their names are forever inscribed in the history of our Victory.

On this festive day, we bow our heads in memory of the thousands of sons and daughters of Abkhazia, volunteers who gave their lives for the freedom of our Motherland. We will never forget their feat.

It is thanks to the feat of our defenders that today we live freely on our land, build our state, and independently determine its future.

Our dear veterans!

We bow before your courage and resilience. We are grateful to you for the freedom of our Motherland.

Thank you for the Victory.

Your feat is an example of courage, resilience, and selfless love for the Motherland for all future generations.

In the years since the Victory, Abkhazia has gone through a difficult path. Today our country is developing, strengthening its statehood, economy, and international ties. The independence of Abkhazia has been recognized by the Russian Federation and a number of other states.

Our main responsibility is to preserve what our Heroes fought and died for.

We are obliged to build a strong, free, and developed state. A state in which our language, culture, traditions, historical memory, and national identity will be preserved.

Today, life in Abkhazia is peaceful. But we must understand that the situation around us remains complex. This requires us to be constantly ready to defend our Motherland.

We are strengthening the Armed Forces of the Republic of Abkhazia, increasing their combat capability, and developing military-technical cooperation with the Russian Federation.

We do not want war. We want peace and tranquility for our people. But we must be ready to defend our land, our freedom, and our independence.

Today's parade is not only a tribute to the generation of victors. This is evidence that Abkhazia remembers its history and has the strength to defend its Motherland.

Dear compatriots!

33 years have passed since our Great Victory. During this time, a new generation has grown up, which was born in a free Abkhazia. Our task is to preserve the memory of the feat of our defenders and to pass on to them the responsibility for the future of our country.

We must do everything to preserve the world that was won at such a great cost. For Abkhazia to develop, become stronger, and for future generations to live freely in their Homeland.

May the memory of the fallen defenders of Abkhazia always remain sacred for each of us.

May their courage and love for the Motherland be an example for future generations.

Happy holiday, dear compatriots!

Happy Victory and Independence Day of Abkhazia!"

Parade formations, consisting of servicemen from the Ministry of Defense and other law enforcement agencies, marched solemnly down Aidgyllara Street.

Then the "Immortal Regiment" march took place. School students and residents of the capital marched with portraits of their loved ones to honor the memory of the republic's defenders.
